Thereafter, he had the opportunity to join a start-up research operation named Energy BioSystems Corporation (EBC). The company worked on the biodesulfurization of diesel fuel as its main focus. Jeff worked as an analytical chemist developing analytical techniques using gas chromatography with the sulfur chemiluminescence detector and mass spectrophotometric detector to determine the compounds affected and the rates of the desulfurization reaction. At EBC, Jeff also worked on the biodesulfurization of gasoline, crude oil, and decant oil projects. Mr. Werner's next career move was as a Product Line Manager at Antek Instruments. As the manager of their Model 7090 Gas Chromatography Detector for Sulfur and Nitrogen determination using chemiluminescence, he was responsible for developing instrument modifications including manuals and QC Testing and for the installation and training of customers using the detector around the world.
